Inchware

Challenge:
With an existing UK base of thousands of users on Windows Mobile Inchware were seeking new ways to grow their business in the rapidly expanding mobile health market, particularly with regards to the care of patients in the community and at home.
Approach:
Gaining a thorough understanding of Inchware's core business was essential, as was developing a clear vision of how the product could be further developed. Digital Works Consulting completed a clear business case analysis which ultimately supported the development of a new BlackBerry Smartphone platform version of their mobile patient record application. Following on from this, we were able to build partnerships with BlackBerry and the mobile networks in order to maximise exposure at the application's launch and ensure it was well received.
We also developed a marketing communications plan and gained funding to ensure a successful launch. As part of the marketing launch, we developed a web and Blackberry demo highlighting the key features of the software.

Results:
Our involvement allowed Inchware to concentrate on their core business whilst opening up a lucrative revenue stream via this new Blackberry mobile application, and as a result have huge sales potential and demand from NHS Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) and Strategies Health Authorities (SHAs).
Inchware are now looking to develop and Android equivalent.
The mobile versions of EMIS, iSOFT, TPP (SystmOne) and In Practice Systems from Inchware will help the NHS save costs and improve patient care in the community.
