MasterCard UK (London)

Challenge:
Faced with a rapid and continually changing UK payments market, caused by the dramatic on-going impact of mobile and social changes to digital commerce, combined with changes within its channel, MasterCard required a refresh of its UK market execution strategy, originally facilitated by BCG.
Approach:
The six-month project to help support the local management team review, re-factor, validate and attain buy-in across the MasterCard business for the necessary changes to its original position, called for a number of skills. The Digital Works Consulting consultant quickly needed to understand the MasterCard UK market, channel and business, credibly explain and get the team up to speed on the digital opportunities and challenges happening to the financial payment market, while being fully aware of the nuances of the business complexities and relationships necessary to attain buy-in.
Results:
By a combination of hard and soft skills, MasterCard UKI has successfully re-orientated its strategy, attained commitment to the direction across all levels of the business, and has re-focused it's delivery for the next five years. As a result MasterCard has now retained Digital Works Consulting across numerous projects.
