Challenge:

With the UK mobile communications market reaching saturation point, Ofcom predicts that UK mobile communications market for voice and data revenue is set to rapidly decline. Seeking new ways to deliver substantial revenue growth and develop new markets, the client wanted to identify and explore strategic opportunities around machine to machine technologies (M2M) in the health and wellbeing industry, with a view to developing viable propositions and identifying key partners.

Approach:

Digital Works Consulting completed a market sector analysis around the healthcare industry, identifying the main drivers for change.  Layered on top were the technological and digital developments emerging, and how combined, these were fuelling change in the way health and wellbeing services will be provided in the future, and the role M2M technologies will play.

Having qualified the market we completed a business case analysis, and identified key opportunities where the client might develop commercially viable offerings to the health industry.

Drawing on our knowledge of healthcare and digital products and services enabled us to evolve a range of innovative and viable M2M propositions, develop end-to-end solutions and identify strategic partners for consideration.

A series of workshops, facilitated by Digital Works Consulting, allowed our client to showcase various propositions to these potential strategic partners, where ideas were discussed and next steps agreed for taking the propositions forward.

Results:

With our experience of the respective digital and healthcare industries, along with a fresh and innovative approach, we were able to provide the client with all the necessary information they needed to make an informed decision on how to move forward in this industry.

We were able to create momentum and swiftly develop credible propositions, allowing the client to focus on their development and diversify into an entirely new area – one very much in line with the company's strategic focus. The client is developing these propositions and building relationships with the right partners in order to make them a reality.
